Journalist claims Spurs-linked manager would take the job today if offered
According to journalist Dan Kilpatrick, Mauricio Pochettino would take the Tottenham Hotspur manager role if he was asked to return to the club.
Pochettino was formerly Tottenham manager between 2014 and 2019. The Argentine oversaw one of the more successful periods in the club’s recent history, leading Spurs to the Champions League final and a second-place finish.
There has remained an intense affinity between Pochettino and much of the Spurs fanbase since his departure in November 2019.
In the recent 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park, positive chants relating to Pochettino were heard from the Tottenham supporters (Dan Kilpatrick).
Pochettino has been linked with a return to Spurs for a while now, with speculation intensifying since the departure of Antonio Conte (Daily Star).
However, London rivals Chelsea are also thought to be keen on the idea of appointing the 51-year-old (Telegraph).
Both clubs have installed interim managers until the end of the season, and it remains to be seen which club, if any, will swoop for Pochettino.
Kilpatrick has discussed the matter, and reckons Pochettino would love to return to Spurs.
He told the Tottenham Way Podcast: “As we touched on, it would be beneficial for Chelsea to make a quick appointment for Spurs and then that obstacle is out of the way.
“In terms of what Spurs are doing it’s pretty obvious that Poch is more keen on the job than Spurs are on bringing him back. I think it’s fair to say that if he was offered the job today he would take it.”

If Spurs were interested in hiring Pochettino, I have a feeling we would have made it happen by now. He’s out of work and seemingly very keen to come back to Spurs.
The fact we’ve not brought him in already tells me it’s very unlikely we’ll ever see that reunion come to fruition.
