[Men's Track & Field] Arokoyo Hits 'A' Standard for SXU Men's Track & Field at Warrior Open
Fort Wayne, Ind. – Sophomore Ayobami Arokoyo (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) had the best throw in the Discus at 49.86m and hit the NAIA 'A' Standard to qualify for the NAIA Men's Track & Field National Championships for the second year in a row for the Saint Xavier University men's track & field team at the Warrior Open hosted by Indiana Institute of Technology on Friday in Fort Wayne, Ind. It was the third-best thrown in team history and the third-best for Arokoyo in the event. It is also the second time that he has won the event after taking first at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite last year on May 14, 2022.
Senior Matthew Avila (Chicago, Ill./Bishop Noll Institute) broke the school record in the Javelin that stood since 2014 with a throw of 44.61m and finished in fourth place.
