Indian ride-hailing startup BluSmart is challenging Uber and Ola for market share in India with its all-electric taxi fleet and focus on luring passengers and drivers from incumbents. As a new entrant, BluSmart is focused on beating incumbent competitors on electrification, cleanliness and reliability through direct management of its fleet and drivers. BluSmart's electric taxis accounted for 80% of the 2,750 newly registered taxis in Delhi between January and October 2012. BluSmart is planning to grow its fleet to 14,000 taxis next year and 100,000 in five years, expanding to four additional cities.
