Black teen Ralph Yarl was shot twice, in the head and arm, after going to the wrong address in Kansas City, Missouri, to pick up his younger brothers. Andrew Lester, an 84-year-old white man, told police he fired at honors student Yarl last week out of fear. But whether self-defense laws will be invoked to shield Lester against charges is yet to be seen in a case that raises anew questions about race. Lester turned himself in Tuesday and faces arraignment Wednesday afternoon on a charges of assault and armed criminal action. An attorney is not yet listed for him. Yarl, meanwhile, is recovering at home.
