Lotsa swell as expected
Hello Friends,
At 0800 wind was light westerly under partly cloudy skies along the beaches. Swell was 1.7 metres at 12-13 seconds from the east. This was delivering overhead sets to the better exposures. This is not a day for beginners and even those who think of themselves as intermediates should be giving conditions close scrutiny before getting involved.
We should see a high today of 24. Water is on 22 and first tide of the day was a 1.76 m high at 0730. It’s now draining out to a 0.34 low at 1345.
The swell models show the energy levels staying the same all day and into tomorrow. Unfortunately Thursday is due to be S-SE’ly 20-30kts and showery, so enjoy today’s conditions.
Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards the coast while a front moving across the south of the state during today. The front will bring a fresh southerly change to the southern waters, which will spread north on Thursday. After this, a southeasterly airstream will persist for the coming week as a high pressure system gradually moves across the Bight and towards the Tasman Sea.
