Something Has Changed, Don’t Know What – Former Leicester Attacker On Foxes Star
Vardy ended his six-month goal drought against Leeds United at Elland Road on Tuesday to earn the Foxes a 1-1 draw.
The 36-year-old forward came into the game in the 70th minute when Leicester were trailing to a goal scored by Luis Sinisterra in the first-half and scored the equaliser in the 80th minute.
Piper was impressed by the performance he saw from Vardy, who also found the net on another occasion in the game, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
The former Leicester winger observed that Vardy has regained his energy and fighting spirit and stressed that he is looking like a different player than he was under Rodgers.
Piper also stated that Vardy resembles the player he was in the past with a hunger for goals and believes that the centre forward wants to be remembered as the player who kept the Foxes up in the Premier League.
“I just looked at Vardy and he was arguing with the referee and he had that fight to him, that energy when he came on”, Piper said on BBC Radio Leicester.
“He looks different than how looked under Brenden; he really does.
“There is something that has changed; I don’t know what it is, but I am looking at a man that does seem to have the energy back in his game, in his legs, and the fire in his belly to maybe want to finish the story that he kept Leicester City in the Premier League with the goals that he scored.”
Vardy has scored only five times for Leicester this season and the Foxes will be hoping to get the forward back in goalscoring form to boost their survival hopes.
