The solicitor general said: "Some preliminary enquiry may be needed. If this court orders, then yes FIR can be registered". But he added that there should be some preliminary enquiry. In response, the CJI said the court does not proceed unless it has some material before it. The issue involves a minor, the CJI said, and asked the solicitor general to furnish the material which the Delhi Police have on Friday.
