Arsenal flops savaged in typically brutal L’Equipe ratings after Man City horror show as Gabriel is given brutal 2/10
ARSENAL got thrashed by Manchester City, who landed Mikel Arteta’s men a knockout blow to their Premier League title hopes.
And the Gunners got torn to shreds by L’Equipe‘s notoriously harsh player ratings following Wednesday’s 4-1 demolition at the Etihad.
The North Londoners weren’t spared after their shambolic performance against City and averaged just 3.7 out of 10.
Gabriel Magalhaes received the lowest grade as he got a 2 after a poor performance in defence.
Gabriel’s display was described as a “nightmare” as he failed to close down Kevin De Bruyne for the Citizens’ opening goal.
The centre-back was also overpowered and outrun time after time by Erling Haaland.
Thomas Partey managed a low grade of 3 as he lost the midfield battle.
Partey was also blamed for the opening goal and was described as a mere “spectator” when De Bruyne netted the third.
Rob Holding received the same grade as he started next to Gabriel at centre-back amid William Saliba’s glaring absence due to injury.
Holding was given the toughest task in the Premier League as he had to keep Haaland quiet.

The publication, though, insists that it was “not a great idea” to have the 27-year-old man-marking the Prem’s leading goalscorer as he “made too many mistakes.”
Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli also got a 3 after failing to create chances.
Oleksandr Zinchenko, Ben White, Bukayo Saka and captain Martin Odegaard managed just a point higher, while Granit Xhaka was awarded a 5.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wasn’t spared either as he got a 3 after being outclassed by his former mentor Pep Guardiola.
Aaron Ramsdale received the best grade despite conceding four goals, but it was a lowly 6.
Arsenal are still top of the table with two points ahead of City, but Guardiola’s men have two games in hand.
