Russia has rejected a U.S. Embassy request for a visit with jailed journalist Evan Gershkovich next month, saying the move is in response to Washington's refusal to issue visas to Russian journalists who planned to accompany Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to the UN in New York this week.
