Report: Why Tottenham are ‘not hopeful’ of appointing Julian Nagelsmann
Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are not hopeful of winning the race for Julian Nagelsmann as the North London club are worried that he might have his eye on other potential opportunities.
There have been plenty of positive updates regarding Spurs’ pursuit of Nagelsmann over recent days, with SportBild even reporting on Wednesday that the German is ‘very keen’ on the job and is likely to take over at N17 if his demands are met.
However, Football Insider have now handed Tottenham a blow by stating that the North London club are not optimistic that the 35-year-old would take the job.
The publication explains that while Nagelsmann remains Tottenham’s top target, the Lilywhites hierarchy have some concerns about his intentions and are worried that he might be using their interest as leverage to secure another top job in Europe.
The report adds that the former Bayern Munich boss would prefer an extended break after his stint in Bavaria.
He allegedly wants his next project to have a squad placed for instant success and does not believe that Tottenham fit that bill.
Football Insider add that with Nagelsmann not looking ‘likely’ to take the job at the moment, Spurs are continuing to consider all other options.

If Tottenham do suspect that Nagelsmann is not overly keen on taking the job, one would expect the club to move on swiftly to other candidates.
If it is true that German is not enthusiastic about the idea of replacing Conte, then I do wonder why it is that the North London club opted not to reach out to Pochettino.
