Woman opens pack of Tesco ham to find ‘Princess Diana’ staring back at her
A woman is preserving a special piece of ham at home after spotting Princess Diana’s face in it.
Hattie Osma bought the packet to make sandwiches for lunch at work, but was ‘shocked’ to see the people’s princess staring back at her.
The 36-year-old said her colleagues were also ‘really spooked’ by it, and one even offered her £30 for the ‘hamazing’ slice.
She turned them down and didn’t eat it either, despite being ravenous.
Hattie, from Cheltenham Spa, said: ‘I loved Princess Diana growing up, she was the people’s princess. She was “hamazing”.
‘I peeled the top slice off and ate it before making my ham sandwich and noticed Diana looking up at me. I’m really glad I didn’t eat it.
‘I was shocked at first, and everyone who’s seen it is really spooked by it and shocked.
‘Someone in the office offered me £30 for the slice, but I politely declined.’
But is the appearance of Diana – the late ex-wife of King Charles III – a coincidence, considering his coronation is only days away?
Hattie isn’t sure – she reckons the silhouette could be ‘a reminder of her beauty’.
And when asked whether she plans to eat the Di-ham-a slice, she replied: ‘I will try and see if it can be preserved for display for my house.’
Meanwhile, a chocolate bust of Charles has raised eyebrows as it’s been compared to ‘The Head’ from children’s television programme Art Attack.
Whatever you might think about Diana’s ham outing, it joins a long line of famous faces appearing in unusual places.
Over the last year this includes Boris Johnson in a chicken korma, Elvis in a pot of McDonald’s ketchup, Shakespeare in a lightbulb, the late Queen in a cloud, John Lennon in a pint glass, and Shrek in both a tub of ice cream AND a curry.
