Indian Navy Chief, Admiral R Hari Kumar, has called on navies from around the world to work together to build trust in the maritime domain amid transnational maritime challenges. Emphasising the need for cooperation, he cited multilateral naval exercises, such as the ASEAN-India Maritime Exercise. He pointed to the four-country regional grouping in the Indo-Pacific, QUAD, as well as India and Bangladesh settling their maritime differences through arbitration. The Admiral added that it was important for countries to follow the United Nations set law for the maritime sector, UNCLOS.
