The World Health Organization’s (WHO) emergency committee is meeting to assess if Covid-19 still remains a global health emergency. The independent panel meets every three months to discuss and report to the WHO, which then decides if it will still remain an international emergency. There has been a marked improvement in Covid-19 deaths since the start of the year, but the committee may still advise against removing the public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC) marker.
