Verdict
Simmer has produced a sail that moves beautifully through manoeuvres whilst maintaining solid forward drive. The Enduro moves wherever you want it throughout the turn, making keeping the rig neutral second nature.

The Lowdown
Simmer’s Enduro is the brand’s sail that does it all, from bump and jump, and wave sailing to freeride performance all in one sail. With a strong focus on increasing the sail range, Simmer claims that the Enduro delivers the pure essence of windsurfing with no fuss, just fun, and the Enduro is a 5-batten sail that sits between the Icon and the V max in Simmer’s sail range. Produced in a petrol blue or yellow colourway, the Enduro comes in five sizes ranging from 5.4 to 7.8. Utilising traits passed down by freerace designs, the Enduro has a shape profile that draws more energy from the mast, producing a forward draft that increases its power delivery. Simmer’s vertical shaping has allowed the brand to create a more harmonious sail profile, increasing skin tension across the sail and with the use of finger patch tendons to distribute load and Kevlar stretch control tendons, the tension is sure to be maintained over time. Simmer has used a variety of materials in the sail to ensure the play-off between weight, performance and durability is in perfect balance. In the high-stress areas of the sail, 5 mil X-ply has been used to guarantee the Enduro can manage harsh wave sailing conditions, whilst lightweight monofilm is used in other areas of the sail to deliver direct handling with a light weight.

Performance
Set foot on the board and you instantly notice the forward and high draft provided by the Enduro. This quality allows the rider to drop low under the boom taking weight off of the board and freeing it up to build speed and accelerate onto the plane. As this occurs, the battens pull away from the mast delivering a smooth transition from depowered to powered whilst still maintaining a relatively punchy feel, ensuring the sail is fast onto the plane when directed well.

Despite its power in the low end, the sail has a very broad range, displaying more luff curve than most and making handling in the upper end of its limit easy. The Enduro performs incredibly well through manoeuvres. Feeling extremely light and free through the turns, the rider can position the rig easily, making it simple to perform the perfect gybe while also having the ability to adapt mid-turn to turn a sloppy entry into a fast and powered exit. Fast to get going, fast in a straight line and fast through the turns, all while maintaining control and composure.
