Ben Foster predicts how much Tottenham would accept for Harry Kane now

Veteran goalkeeper Ben Foster has claimed Tottenham Hotspur would accept a fee of £70 million for Harry Kane in the summer, as they cannot expect anyone to pay more for a player in the final year of his contract.

Aside from a few loan spells in his early days, Kane has spent his entire career at Tottenham. He is now the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, having broken Jimmy Greaves’ long-standing record this year (GOAL).

It may have been a miserable season for Spurs on the whole this term, but Kane is flying on a personal level. He has 27 goals in all competitions for the Lilywhites so far (Transfermarkt).

However, Kane is still without a trophy and that doesn’t appear to be changing any time soon at Tottenham given the current state of affairs at the club.

With just over a year left on his current contract, there is talk of Kane looking elsewhere for a new challenge.

Reports have repeatedly linked the England captain with a move to Manchester United, with suggestions an £80 million deal is in the offing (Daily Star).

However, The Times claim Tottenham Hotspur will demand closer to £100 million for their star man. According to Foster, that’s ludicrous, and he expects Spurs to make a compromise if an offer comes in.

The Wrexham keeper told his YouTube channel: “You’re not paying £100 million for Harry Kane.

“Nobody’s paying £100 million. It’ll be £70 million. They’ll take £70 million, I bet you.

“No chance. No one’s stupid enough to expect £100 million for a player with one year [left on his contract].”

Ordinarily, a player in the final year of his contract would see his value diminish dramatically.

However, Kane is an anomaly, and Daniel Levy is incredibly stubborn. I think Levy would rather let Kane go for free next year than compromise on his valuation now.
