Bharti Airtel and HDFC Bank have partnered to develop a solution using artificial intelligence/machine learning to identify and prevent phishing, spam and fraud across their messaging services. The plan establishes direct connectivity between the two for end-to-end SMS connectivity and detection of any other route. The project has demonstrated success in detecting and blocking around 2 million messages per day and Airtel is planning to demonstrate the solution to other entities, particularly those in the banking industry. The system has been developed over two to three months and sits outside of current mandated distributed ledger technology solutions.
