The BJP won 10 of the 17 mayoral elections in Uttar Pradesh, India. Official results for the remaining seven municipalities are expected later on Saturday. The polls were held in two phases, on May 4th and May 11th, with 53% of eligible voters participating in total. Candidates from the Bahujan Samaj Party won in the 2017 mayoral elections in Meerut and Aligarh, while the BJP ruled the rest.
