I put up a privacy fence to block out my neighbours but they’ve completely sabotaged it, I’m fuming
A HOMEOWNER has been left fuming after he erected a fence to give himself a little privacy from the neighbours only to discover they had sabotaged it.
Taking to Reddit the man explained that he had encountered some issues with the neighbours when they initially put up the fence, who argued it went into their garden too much.
However, after deeds of the property cleared up the boundaries the man believed that they would have no further issues with the fence.
But he was quickly proven wrong.
In his post he explains: “We’ve returned home today to find that the fence which we intend to paint a nice lighter colour has been painted on their side and has seeped through making our fence look a complete mess.
“Had it have been done with care and not seeped through it wouldn’t have been an issue at all to be honest but this means we’re either now going to have to replicate the colour or sand off their dark shade when we had/have plans to use a much lighter colour, especially given we have a light shade on a large shed we have in the back garden.”
The man then asked fellow Redditors for their advice, asking whether he is any position to take legal action.
Most were quick to discourage the man from taking legal action, arguing there may be a simpler solution.
One wrote: “Might be easier to just quickly paint over the stained parts with a quick coat.
“Annoying but might the least stressful option.”
Agreeing a second added: “It’s his side of the fence, is it not?”
“In your shoes I’d ask your neighbour to cover the cost of a tin of stain covering primer,” added another.
