North Dakota State transfer Grant Nelson planning visits to 3 schools
By ADAM ZAGORIA
North Dakota State transfer Grant Nelson, arguably the top remaining transfer in the portal, has set three visits, according to reports.
The 6-foot-11 native of Devils Lake, N.D. will visit Baylor (Monday), Alabama (Tuesday) and Arkansas (Thursday), sources confirmed.
Nelson averaged 17.9 points on 52% shooting last season and 9.3 rebounds.
He attended the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago last month and then opted to withdraw from the draft and transfer.
“My plan — I want to stay in the draft,” Nelson told Mike McFeely at the NBA Combine. “That’s my main goal — get drafted this year. But I entered the transfer portal and kept my eligibility just as like, if anything does happen, I do have that to fall back on. But my main goal is to get drafted this year.”
