Report reveals how much Daniel Levy would expect Real Madrid to pay for Harry Kane
Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is expected to tell Real Madrid that it would cost as much as £200million to sign Harry Kane this summer, according to The Independent.
Earlier today Real Madrid confirmed that Karim Benzema is to leave the Spanish giants after fourteen years and is expected to move to Saudi Arabia after receiving a lucrative offer from Al-Ittihad (BBC).
Madrid’s need for a new number nine has fuelled speculation that Kane is on Real’s shopping list this summer with Carlo Ancelotti having discussed with his board the prospect of Kane moving to the Bernabeu ahead of the next campaign.
The England captain has just twelve months to run on his existing contract in north London and Levy faces the decision of whether to cash in on his star striker this summer or risk him leaving for free at the end of the season.
Real Madrid are reported to have a transfer war chest of £200million to spend as they look to revamp their squad following the departures of Benzema, Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio.
It is understood that Kane wishes to remain in the Premier League in order to achieve his aim of breaking Alan Shearer’s top flight goalscoring record despite the fact it has been made known to Madrid of what wages the 29-year-old would expect.
