DEAR DEIDRE: ONE minute my new fella is all over me, telling me he loves me, and the next he’s cold and distant – it’s so unsettling.
We met four months ago and at first it was going well. He seemed really interested.
Due to work we’d only see each other once or twice a week but we chatted every day.
I am 49 and he is 53. He told me at the beginning that he didn’t want anything serious as he’d just come out of a toxic relationship, which I understood.
But over the last month he has changed and I don’t know whether I’m coming or going.
When I told him I felt like he wasn’t as into us as I was, he said he wanted a break.

He snapped at me that he didn’t want a relationship and needed time on his own.
We had an argument over the phone a week ago and he hung up on me.
Now he is totally ignoring me. How could he cut me out like that?
I am so hurt and confused.
DEIDRE SAYS: Perhaps he simply had a change of heart, and it really was too soon after his previous relationship to be back on the dating scene.
