An injured eight-year-old boy, along with his mother and a relative, were killed in Manipur's West Imphal district when an ambulance carrying them to the hospital was waylaid by a mob and set alight. The boy had sustained a bullet injury in his head during a shoot-out and was being taken to a hospital in Imphal with his mother and relative when the incident occurred.
