3 Days to #1 – Ranking the Prospects
#3 - Zachary Morin Height: 6'2″ | Weight: 174 lbs Year of Birth: 2007 Shoots: Left Zachary played for Collège Esther-Blondin in the U18AAA League as a 14-year-old in 2021-2022 and chose to move south last season to play for the Detroit Little Ceasar's, where he put up 130 points (58G, 72A) in 77 games. A true force of nature, Zachary plays with power and has a major league shot at only 16 years of age. He favours a physical style and is very difficult to play against. A player of character, with maturity, he will surely learn to better control his emotions by staying on the ice and avoiding the penalty box. Although we would have liked to see Zachary play at the Canada Games, because of his style of play, he remains a top prospect at the next level and is destined for a bright future in professional hockey. According to Pierre Cholette, CSR Director (APR ’23): Zachary is a power forward who is a left-hand shooter. After playing at the U18AAA level with Collège Esther-Blondin in 2021-2022 at the age of 14, Zachary has moved south of the border where he put up impressive numbers this season. At 6’2″ and 174 lbs, he already has an imposing frame that he puts to good use. He has a heavy, powerful and accurate shot as well as a very good skating stride overall. He plays a physical style and doesn’t hesitate to rush the opposing net or to complete each of his checks. In short, he has all the tools to become an impact player at the next level.
