Club Want Sunderland Man Back After Loan Spell
The 30-year-old defender spent the latter half of last season on loan at Rotherham but was hampered by injuries.
He is scheduled to return to Sunderland for pre-season ahead of the club’s campaign in the Championship.
The Australian could be unlikely to be part of Tony Mowbray’s plans and only has a year left on his contract at the Stadium of Light.
And it has been claimed that Rotherham are keen to have him back in the summer transfer window.
The Millers were impressed with his performances despite the injuries and are keen to have him at the club again.
Sunderland are likely to prefer a sale and some money in due to his contract situation, but it is claimed Rotherham will have some negotiating to do.
It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can agree on a fee for Wright to move to the New York Stadium this summer.
