People are just realising they’ve been scooping ice cream out the tub wrong – and the right way doesn’t involve a spoon
NOW that the sun is shining and temperatures are soaring, many Brits will be looking forward to tucking into some tasty ice cream.
But social media user’s minds are currently being blown after discovering that they’ve been serving up the sweet summer treat completely wrong.
One man revealed that everyone who scoops out their ice cream with a spoon is making unnecessary hassle for themselves.
That’s because not only are they having to use muscle power they don’t need to, but they also end up with a smaller portion of food as it doesn’t seem worth the effort.
Instead, he shared how he’d recently discovered that there’s an alternative method that is so much easier and quicker.
And the solution? A simple kitchen butter knife.
TikTok user Dr George Christos said he’s come to rely on the technique after giving it a try and realising how much better it was.
The man, whose TikTok profile is @justgeorgeous, took to his profile to post a video of himself attempting to spoon out the ice cream that was almost rock solid after being taken out of the freezer.
He then explained: “Easy way to get ice cream out of a container without bending the spoon.”
Dr George Christos then added: “Use a knife!”
Proving that his hack really worked, Dr George Christos then recorded himself cutting through the vanilla ice cream and placing it in a bowl with minimal effort.
The video then went viral and gained over 122k likes from other social media users who said that they couldn’t believe they hadn’t thought of it before.
One person wrote: “What?! No way!”
A second social media fan joined in the conversation, as they commented: “I’m flabbergasted.”
A third impressed person said: “Bro just chopped his ice cream!”
As a fourth added: “Why have I never thought of this? I always bend the spoon.”
Other people said they had also never thought to use a knife, as one person explained: “I’m 31 and I’m still learning daily.”
Another typed: “So smart, thank you.”
Meanwhile, other ice cream lovers said they’d learnt this “genius” tip from others and had never once regretted it.
One person explained: “Been doing this for years.
“Got sick of bent spoons and used the butter knife – haven’t looked back.”
