28 Killed, Over 140 Injured As Heavy Rains lash KP, Punjab
At least 28 people were killed and over 100 injured after heavy rains and thunderstorms his several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab on Saturday.
According to the provincial disaster management office, twenty-five people were killed, and 145 were injured in rain-related accidents in KP’s Bannu, Karak, and Lakki Marwat. It further mentioned that the rain caused at least 69 dwellings to sustain partial damage.
At least 11 deaths and 73 injuries are associated with incidents involving roof and wall collapse in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In the meantime, accidents involving wall collapse resulted in at least five fatalities and over ten other injuries in the Lakki Marwat district.
According to hospital sources, four children and a woman were among the victims.
A representative of Rescue 1122 stated that all of their KP stations are prepared for any unfavourable incident.
