Mum reveals genius hack to save kids’ food that is about to go out-of-date – and it’ll make lunchtime a breeze
A SAVVY mum has revealed what to do with kids’ yoghurts that are about to expire – and it’ll be a lifesaver this summer.
The genius hack comes as a quarter of Brits admit they generate a ‘lot’ of food waste, often buying a bulk of food and forgetting about it in the fridge.
According to parent Laura Pottle, who shared the trick on Facebook, this hack is a perfect way to use up any pots of yoghurt that are going out of date.
The answer, she revealed on the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, is simple – chucking them in the freezer.
She wrote in the post: ”Yogurts going out of date? Don’t throw them away – put a stick in a freezer!
”Just make sure you use plain lolly sticks not the coloured ones.
”We also do the same with Frubes.”
According to taste.com.au, while you can freeze yoghurt, you should also be mindful that its texture will change.
They explained that foodies may find the yoghurt has become thinner and less creamy.
Laura also uploaded a snap of her child enjoying the frozen treat – a hack that’s ideal for summer.
Since being shared on the platform, the post has already taken the internet by storm, winning more than a whopping 1.3k likes.
