The Southwest Monsoon has become active over the northeast Indian states, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), with rainfall expected for the next two days in Meghalaya and Assam. The monsoon has also progressed towards Gangetic West Bengal, the northeastern part of Jharkhand and the adjoining regions of Bihar, bringing very heavy to heavy rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday.
