Man driving wrong way in South Windsor charged with DUI
Police in South Windsor charged a man with DUI after an officer spotted him getting onto Route 5 heading in the wrong direction in the early morning hours on Sunday.
Dylan Babbitt, 25, of Wethersfield was arrested at about 1:30 a.m. after an officer pulled him over, according to the South Windsor Police Department. He faces charges of driving under the influence and driving the wrong way on a divided highway, police said.
An officer reported spotting Babbitt turn from Chapel Road onto Route 5 and begin driving south in the northbound lanes, according to police. The officer was able to catch up to Babbitt and pull him over, police said.
South Windsor police said Babbitt agreed to take multiple field sobriety tests and reportedly failed them. He was released without having to post bail and is expected to face a judge in Manchester Superior Court on July 3.
