Brazil change shirt colour but banana incident shows how deep Spanish racism goes
June 19 – Brazil sent a message against racism by swapping their ironic yellow and green shirts for an all-black kit during the first half of a friendly against Guinea in Barcelona on Saturday.
The game was arranged after Brazil forward Vinícius Júnior was racially abused several times in Spain this season while playing for Real Madrid at away games.
Ironically another alleged racist incident occurred just before Saturday’s friendly, this time directed towards an adviser of Vinicius,
