AN INTERIOR’S pro has shared the sneaky alterations she made to her home to doll it up.
And the best part is her landlord was none the wiser as all the changes were completely reversible.
Camillie Lenore shared her tips in a TikTok video online.
She said: “This video is for renters and renters only. Landlords go away. Here are some easy updates you can make to your apartment rental that your landlord should not even notice after you move out.”
One of the simplest changes Camille made was to her kitchen cupboard knobs.
She said: “ One of my favourite easy updates to make is changing out the knobs. I wanna emphasise though, do not lose the original knobs that your apartment came with. Store away all that stuff in a place you will not forget and you will not lose.”
Likewise another small but savvy change is covering up light switches.
Camille said: “Same thing with light switch covers. Feel free to get a fun cover that matches your personality. Light switch covers are usually attached with just two screws, so replacing it and putting it back is easy.”
In her kitchen Camille added stick on tiles in a chequered pattern.
She said: “In my previous rental I did peel and stick tiles in my kitchen and when I moved out my landlord had no idea. And look how much it enhanced the space! So cute.”
You are also able to change lamp shades if they don’t fit your aesthetic.

Camille said: “If you have wall sconces, changing out the shade is also super simple. For my scones specifically, this literally required no hardware so it was so easy and I just stored away the original shades in a safe space.”
Lastly Camillie says she never follows the ‘no nail’ rule.
She said: “This last one might be a little controversial so feel free to ignore me, but landlords that don’t let you put a single nail in the wall are so evil.
“I have never listened to this. I just use nails anyways because nail holes are actually really easy to cover up. All you really need is sparkle And the same paint colour as the wall.”
Camille’s video racked up over 470,000 views online.
Many renters were sharing the adaptations they made to their homes.
As well as their experiences with difficult landlords.
One user asked: “Do landlords let you paint the walls and what not ? Or they don’t and you just paint them back to the colour it was b4?”
