The first batch of four electric buses has been rolled out in Kargil as part of an initiative to transform Ladakh into a carbon-neutral Union Territory. The buses, provided by SIDCO Transport, Ladakh, are aimed at reducing carbon emissions and providing better public transportation facilities. One bus will operate within Kargil town, another will travel from Kargil to Sankoo, and two buses will operate on the Kargil-Leh route. The buses were flagged off by Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Chairman Feroz Ahmad Khan and Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal.
