Two Former Exeter Loanees Sign for Burton Albion
Burton Albion have announced the signing of two players who played on loan at Exeter City last season.
Firstly, Exeweb sponsored Rekeem Harper who was released from his contract by mutual agreement from Ipswich Town. He’s signed for the Brewers on a two-year contract, according to their website. Rekeem made 23 appearances on loan for the Grecians, scoring once and sent off once.
Burton boss Dino Maamria said:-
He’s a top midfielder who had a lot of success at a young age but hasn’t really been settled after being sent out on loan which is not easy sometimes.
What he liked about us is that we have given him a home for the next two years and hopefully beyond that. He’s still only 23 but already has a lot of experience. But he can still develop and improve. We are delighted to have him here.
23 year-old Rekeem Harper said of his move
It felt like the right time of my career and the right club and the right manager to really spring me forward. Whenever you sign for a new club there is excitement and you just want to meet the rest of the boys and get going.
The second player Burton Albion have signed is Kegs Chauke from Southampton, the 20 year-old has signed a two-year contract. Kegs made 26 appearances for the Grecians scoring twice.

Kegs Chauke has also signed for Burton Albion. The 20 year-old South African born midfielder has signed a two year contract. Kegs made 26 appearances for the Grecians, scoring twice.
Brewers boss Dino Maamria said:-
He’s someone we have chased for a while as he’s a real talent. He’s a dynamic midfielder who is technically very good. We are lucky to have him as we have beaten off some competition from some top clubs in League One.
He decided to come to us because he knows we develop young players and make them better. He will give us energy and quality on the ball as well.
There’s no doubt about it that he will be playing at Championship level in a few years.
Kegs said of his move:-
I think this is a good step for me and I want to show the fans and the manager that I can do well for this club.
With the way the club is run it’s going to be a good place to settle in and hopefully kick on.
