Mum bought our beach hut for £150 now it’s worth half a million… we can make £1k a week just from renting it
THE UK’s most expensive beach huts are located in Mudeford where an average hut costs half a million pounds.
It was revealed on Channel 4’s Britain’s Best Beach Huts that one owners beach hut cost his mother just £150.
Tony Web owns a modest beach hut in Mudeford, the hut is named Ticketyboo.
This area in Dorset is renowned for the some of most expensive real estate in the UK, houses here cost on average £1 million.
The ‘millionaire beachfront’ is very exclusive so you have to get the there by boat or train.
No cars have been on the protected conservation area since 1968.
The sandbank has a mile stretch of 350 privately owned beach huts.
But these are no ordinary beach huts; Ticketyboo and others are some of the most expensive in the UK.
And it’s not difficult to see why, the modest beach hut has all everyday luxuries you would find in a home.
Ticketyboo has its own TV, seating area, storage, full kitchen, working electrics and even an entertainment system.
The hut is powered by solar panels which power two batteries that act as the main energy source for the hut.
The beach hut also has another rare feature, if you follow the ladder upstairs you will find a cosy sleeping area with two beds.

This is a rarity as most beach hunts only allow daytime use.
Tony Web has seen the value of his beach hut dramatically increase in the 64 years he has been there.
Tony explained that his mother bought the hut in 1959 for around £150 and the hunt was handed down from generation to generation.
Now beach hunts in the area are worth half a million pounds.
He said: “ About a year ago one [a beach] hut around here sold for £510,000.”
And you can’t get a mortgage for these so if you want one you would need to coff up the money in cash.
Likewise renting one of these costs about £1,000 a week.
Tony said he loves his beach hut and the community in Mudeford.
He said: “I adore down here not only because the place is unique but because of the people down here. I’ve grown up with them, we all look out for each other.”
