INCREDIBLE pictures show thousands of thrillseekers running for their lives from stampeding beasts at the Pamplona bull run.
Chaotic scenes unfolded as revellers flocked to the northern Spanish city for the San Fermín festival, which started on Thursday.
Gorey snaps from the first run showed victims annihilated on the floor of Pamplona’s cobbledstoned streets.
Men and women were also pictured fleeing in desperation as the terrifying bulls chased them down.
One adrenalin junkie was even seen being slung into the air as a revved-up creature sunk its horns into his genital region.
Locals and tourists were all dressed in traditional white clothes with a red sash and neckerchief as they celebrated the festival’s 100th anniversary since acclaimed author Ernest Hemingway first visited the spectacle.
The festival was made famous by Hemingway’s 1926 novel The Sun Also Rises.
It runs for nine days but the highlight is always the early morning “encierros” where six bulls are set loose in the town.
Thousands of daredevils try to avoid the beasts as they stampede to the city’s bullring.
The bulls used in the runs are killed by fearless matadors in bullfights each afternoon in the ring.
Spectators watch from balconies and wooden barricades set up along the course – with the spectacle televised nationally.
The rest of the day is usually spent eating, drinking and partying.
Last year, shocking footage revealed the moment an American tourist was gored by a bull at the festival.
And in 2019, a gruesome picture showed a woman being horned in the back.
