Emmerdale fans work out real identity of Reuben’s father as actor gives away twist
REUBEN’S paternity has been a topic of heated discussion among soap fans for several months.
And despite recent events in Emmerdale, many ITV viewers are certain Mackenzie Boyd isn’t the baby’s father, following a huge twist.
Mackenzie Boyd (portrayed by Lawrence Robb) was revealed to be the father of Chloe Harris’ (Jessie Elland) baby Reuben after months of secrecy.
Devastated, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) reacted by selling her husband’s clothes in the streets of the eponymous village and has remained bitter ever since.
The hunk initially tried to make it up to Charity, while maintaining he would help Chloe raise Reuben, but after weeks of uncertainty, Mack finally decided to form a family with his son and Chloe.
Charity was shocked by the pair showing up to the Woolpack as a couple and while all finally seems well in the Dales for the trio, fans of the long-running drama are convinced another twist is headed their way.
While Mackenzie was pushed into the spotlight at Reuben’s father following his one night stand with Chloe, viewers remembered she also bedded Nate Robinson prior to his relationship with Naomi Walters.
In recent scenes of the Yorkshire-based program, however, Nate tied the knot with Tracy Metcalfe as actress Amy Walsh reprised her role after her maternity leave.
Due to this happy event, viewers are suggesting Nate may be revealed as Reuben’s real father.
Actor Jurell Carter recently told The Sun and other press: “I think obviously he’s had a fling with Chloe. That was just a sexual thing rather than any kind of romance or anything like that. He met Naomi, which they got on but again, work commitments and just not being on the same page got in the way.”
“So I think he’s finally got his match with Tracy and I feel like it’s nice to see on screen as well.”
Over on social media, one fan commented: “After all this, Nate will be the baby’s father!”

Another questioned and threw another name into the mix: “Is Mack really the father? Didn’t she sleep with Nate too? Al?”
As mentioned above, Reuben’s paternity has been keeping fans on their toes, particularly as many of them are convinced Mackenzie can’t be the father of the tot.
Chloe gave birth to her son earlier this year and viewers agreed that Reuben was born prematurely – a hint to them that he couldn’t be the result of her night with Mackenzie.
Could they be right?
