Horror as dead body is found near Wimbledon tennis courts – with cops probing ‘unexpected and unexplained’ death
A BODY has been found near the Wimbledon tennis courts, leaving local residents “alarmed”.
Cops confirmed the grim find this morning, with the death being treated as “unexplained and unexpected”.
The man was discovered at 9.25 am in Southfields, South London, just over half a mile from the site of the world-famous tennis championship.
Locals reported that he was found by bin men as they collected the rubbish from an estate in the area.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Officers were called at 9.25am on Monday, July 10 to Chobham Gardens, SW19.
“The body of a man was reported to have been found at the location.
“Officers have attended and a forensic scene is in place.
“The death is being treated as unexpected and unexplained.”
