The French government is hoping to fill labour shortages with undocumented migrants by offering them a one-year residency permit. But the planned immigration bill has recently been overshadowed by riots and right-wing politicians still disagree over several aspects of the bill. These undocumented people are often vulnerable to labour abuse and exploitation and are hired by both private and public firms who turn a blind eye to their plight. France 24 journalists Samia Metheni and Alexandra Renard, with Camille Nedelec, went to meet some of these workers.
