The Indian Army has rescued 910 students and 50 others from a private university in Punjab that was severely flooded in heavy rainfall. Flood relief columns of the Army's Western Command were sent in to assist with the civil administration’s rescue efforts in Rupnagar, Mohali, and Panchkula, while engineers focused on preventing the breach of a canal and repairing an embankment to avoid further flooding.
