Ange Postecoglou reveals if he has been given assurances over Harry Kane’s future
Ange Postecoglou has revealed in his first press conference as Tottenham boss that the club have not given him any assurances regarding Harry Kane’s future.
The speculation linking Kane with a move to Bayern Munich continues to run rife, with the Bundesliga giants thought to have submitted an offer of €80m (£68.6m) plus add-ons for the striker on Sunday after their initial €70m (£60m) offer was turned down by Tottenham (Florian Plettenberg).
The general consensus seems to be that this bid too would be turned down by the North London club, with 90 min even asserting that the Lilywhites hierarchy remains adamant about not even entering into talks with Bayern over their star player.
It was previously reported by Alasdair Gold on Football.London that Kane is expected to speak to Postecoglou about his future when he reports to pre-season training on Wednesday, with Daniel Levy and co said to be hopeful that the Australian can convince the 29-year-old to remain in N17.
No guarantees given over Harry Kane’s Tottenham future
Postecoglou has now admitted ahead of his meeting with the England captain that his future remains uncertain for the moment.
When asked if he had been given assurances that Kane would stay, the 56-year-old said (via Football.London): “I haven’t had any assurances and I wouldn’t expect any. With these type of situations, you’re never dealing with certainties.
“I can only go with what I know right now. Harry is part of the squad and looking forward to being back and part of the players.”

I do not think Postecoglou would find it challenging to convince Harry Kane to stay since the Australian is clearly a very good communicator while the striker is also in a strong position, given that he will be a free agent next summer if he does not sign a new deal.
