The One Show’s Alex Jones accidentally ‘snubs’ A-list guest in awkward on-air moment
THE One Show’s Alex Jones suffered an embarrassing on-air blunder as she “snubbed” an A-list star in the latest episode.
Alex and co-host Jermaine Jenas introduced US actresses’ Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman to the show to promote their new film Project: Lioness.
The Hollywood starlets made a grand entrance into the studio together.
As they came in, Zoe approached Jermaine to shake his hand before sitting down, and then attempted to shake Alex’s.
But things quickly turned awkward when Alex unintentionally embarrassed Zoe and ignored her handshake request.
Alex seemed to accidentally overlook everything and go in for a hug with Nicole instead.
Jermaine intervened for a second handshake with Zoe in order to diffuse the uncomfortable moment.
Jermaine shrugged off the error and stated: “Oops, I’ll just do it again.”
Shortly after the embarrassing moment, Zoe and Nicole sat down with the BBC presenter’s to discuss their new film.
During the interview Zoe revealed that juggling her acting career and being a mum “takes it’s toll”.
She admitted: “You know, being a full-time mother, and full-time career woman does take it’s toll.”
Fans took to Twitter to discuss how “stunning” Zoe and Nicole looked on the show.
One wrote: “Oh my god, how stunning do they both look on The One Show?”
A second added: “Zoe Saldana, yes please!”
