I got pregnant at the exact same time as my surrogate – now I’m stumped on what to do… & everyone asks the same question
A WOMAN has been left stumped on what to do after getting pregnant at the same time as her surrogate.
Jenna Herrera, from the US, took to TikTok where she revealed her predicament.
In the clip, the mum revealed she had no idea if she was going to be able to be there for her surrogate’s delivery.
As she caressed her bump, she said: “This baby is due in September, and my surrogate is due just three weeks after me, and she’s in Colombia.
“So the question is will we be able to have this baby, get a birth certificate, get a passport, and make our way to Colombia with this baby all in three weeks?
“There’s a chance it could happen, there’s a chance it could not.”
Jenna wondered if it doesn’t work out – does she leave the baby she carried in the US while she flies to Colombia or should her husband go to Colombia while she stays with the baby?
The situation had her stumped, but people in the comments were more curious as to why she had a surrogate if she was already pregnant.
One curious viewer asked: “I’m new here why did you do both?”
Another commented: “If able to carry, why use a surrogate?”
“I’m confused. You’re pregnant and have a surrogate? But you’re due first so that means you were preggers first so what’s the point,” added a third.
In a separate video, the mum revealed exactly why she ended up with two pregnancies at the same time.
Jenna said: “The internet went absolutely crazy when they found out my husband has two women pregnant at the same time.”
Jenna and her husband, who have one child together already, had struggled to get pregnant for years so they decided to use a surrogate.
Miraculously, Jenna ended up pregnant which she found in January of this year – but her surrogate was already prepared for the embryo transfer in February.
So the couple decided they would continue with the surrogacy path as well.
Fortunately, both pregnancies have continued, leaving Jenna with two happy babies on the way.
The videos posted to her account @themoneymom have gone viral with over eight million views and over 700k likes collectively.
Although people were curious as to why the pair chose both paths, many congratulated them.
One person wrote: “Awesome and Congratulations.”
Someone else added: “Soo exciting double blessings!”
Another commented: “That’s awesome. Congratulations.”
