Dan Walker reveals why he will never work on Sundays saying ‘I feel very privileged’
DAN Walker has opened up about his work schedule after leaving the BBC.
The popular journalist and presenter, 46, who is a devout Christian, has shared how his faith impacts his working hours.
Dan has explained that he does not work Sundays due to his religious beliefs.
Chatting to Yours Magazine about not working on Sundays, he stated: “It’s always been something that I’ve tried to stick to, and I feel very privileged to have the job that I do.”
He then joked: “People keep employing me for some reason.”
Dan has previously revealed that he goes to church every week and refuses to work on a Sunday.
Because of this he has had to “turn down amazing jobs”.
He said in 2021: “I’ve been a Christian for a long time and my faith has always been really important to me.
“It’s at the centre of who I am, what I think, what I do.
“I know people talk a lot about me not working on a Sunday but this industry can be all-encompassing if you let it. I’ve turned down loads of amazing jobs because of it.”
Meanwhile, the BBC favourite has teamed up with presenter Helen Skelton for a new Channel 5 show.
Helen and Dan will travel Britain’s first and finest long-distance trail, The Pennine Way, for their new show Pennine Adventure.
The former Strictly Come Dancing duo have already started filming and the the four-part Channel 5 series is expected to drop this August.
Dan and Helen will immerse themselves in the rural landscape and try out challenging physical adventure activities, as well as exploring the the countryside.
They will also meet and hear personal stories from locals to reflect on the past and contemporary life of Britain.
Dan stepped away from BBC Breakfast and the broadcaster last year to move to Channel 5 – after fronting the flagship show for six years.
