There's also a timer for anyone who adds the deal to their cart and hasn't checked out yet. Once that timer hits zero, the product returns to being available for other shoppers. 

But don't worry if the product sells out before you're able to take advantage of the deal. Most Lightning Deals allow you to add your name to a waitlist should additional inventory become available or other shoppers change their minds. It's not a guarantee but still worth a shot.
