Wonderboom 3 vs. JBL Flip

In my experience, the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 is a better portable speaker than the JBL Flip, which is a more expensive speaker from a more popular brand. The Wonderboom 3 has slightly longer battery life than the JBL Flip, a 360-degree sound profile to cover more range, and it's slightly smaller with a built-in travel loop to help hook it to a backpack or bike. 

Both the Wonderboom 3 and JBL Flip only allow for Bluetooth input, and there's no microphone for taking calls. Despite those drawbacks, when compared to cheaper portable speakers designed for indoor use, they're more durable and offer better sound quality. Both speakers are waterproof and safe for pool use, and there's even a feature that will let you pair two Wonderboom or two JBL Flip speakers for use at the same time.

While JBL Flip comes in 11 different colors, Wonderboom 3 offers four basic color schemes: black, white, blue, or pink. Limited-edition purple and green models are available too, but they aren't included in this Prime Day deal. We do prefer the JBL Flip's USB-C charging port, as the MicroUSB charger needed for the Wonderboom 3 has become increasingly outdated, but it's not enough to make the JBL Flip the better speaker.
