BBC star ‘broke Covid lockdown rules to meet 23-year-old from dating site’
A 23-year-old person has claimed the BBC presenter facing allegations over payments for sexually explicit pictures broke Covid lockdown rules to meet them, The Sun reported.
Messages seen by the newspaper suggest the top star travelled across London, to a different county, to see them in February 2021.
It is alleged the two met on a dating website and the presenter pressed them for more almost two months to see each other in person, despite England being in a strict three-tier system.
The young person said: ‘I kept fobbing him off but he became so persistent. He then started getting really demanding when I made excuses not to meet him.
‘There was a barrage of messages and if I didn’t agree to meet he would say he felt unwanted and I had to explain myself constantly.
‘His attitude changed completely.’
Describing the alleged encounter, they said: ‘He came round for an hour… We just chatted. He was obsessed with me making him a cup of tea.’
As well as visiting the young person, he is alleged to have sent cash three times, and asked for a picture.
The latest round of claims appear to have been made by a third person, someone different to the others who have made claims against the presenter, who has been suspended by the BBC.
They come after the broadcaster reported that a person in their early 20s – who it said is not connected to the person in the first report by the Sun – allegedly got threatening messages from the presenter.
The Sin first made allegations on Friday about the unnamed presenter, claiming a different young person was paid around £35,000 over three years, from the age of 17, for sexually explicit images.
