The markets had a positive session as they consolidated in a defined range and ended the day with modest gains. The NIFTY opened positive and stayed positive throughout the session. After opening in the green, the index edged up higher and marked the high point of the day in the afternoon. However, it gave up some gains towards the end. But the headline index still managed to end the day with a net gain of 83.50 points (+0.43%).
