Malawi faces fuel crisis due to lack of foreign reserves

LILONGWE, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Malawi is facing severe fuel crisis due to the lack of foreign reserves, a regulatory body said Tuesday.

"The fuel being consumed today came into the country yesterday; what will be consumed tomorrow will have come today," said Henry Kachaje, chief executive officer of the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority.

The country needs 60 million U.S. dollars to rebuild its fuel reserv
