Clare Balding: Lost Dogs Live branded ‘utter madness’ and ‘ludicrous’ by baffled Channel 5 viewers
CHANNEL 5 viewers have been left absolutely baffled by Clare Balding’s latest TV endeavour.
The star has been hosting a brand new show all about missing dogs.
It is the latest in a string of quick turn-around programmes on Channel 5 about discovering the whereabouts of someone or something live.
The slate of programming launched with Dan Walker‘s one-off ‘Nicola Bulley Live’ special before landing a full missing people spin-off as well as another one-off show about the location of the recent missing submarine.
Clare’s latest show follows suit but is all about locating missing dogs up and down the country.
However, fans have been left perplexed by the live programme with many questioning its origins and why it was brought to the air.
Clare herself has also faced questions about her ‘expertise’ to host the show.
Writing online about Channel 5’s latest programme, one fan did not hold back as they said: “This UTTER MADNESS is currently live on Channel 5.
“Clare Balding doing her best here in fairness.
“It’s like Crimewatch for Dogs. Recreations. Dramatic music. Breathy narration. Dog Drone Unit. It’s wonderful. And entirely ludicrous.”
Another penned: “Posh Clare Balding is an expert on Golf, Tennis, Horse racing, and now dogs!”
Before a third wrote: “Lost dogs with Clare Balding. Is that an old Partridge pitch?”
Clare Balding’s Lost Dogs Live airs Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 5 and streams on My5.
