A LEGENDARY Game of Thrones star looks unrecognisable as he makes an epic TV return in a first look at the BBC’s The Famous Five.

The series is based on Enid Blyton’s 21 stories about the five daring young explorers.

The cast was announced by the BBC on Wednesday, with Diaana Babnicova playing the role of George, alongside Elliott Rose as Julian, Kit Rakusen as Dick, Flora Jacoby Richardson as Anne playing George’s cousins who come to stay at Kirrin Cottage.

Making up the fifth member of The Famous Five and the gang’s faithful furry friend, is Kip, the Bearded Collie Cross playing Timmy the dog.

Game of Thrones actor Jack Gleeson is also joining the cast as Wentworth, however fans of the hit HBO series will be forgiven for not recognising the Joffrey Baratheon star.

Jack, 31, played one of the show’s villains from 2011 to 2014, but he received so much hate from fans over Joffrey’s terrible actions that he decided to take a hiatus from acting.

Thankfully, he’s now returned to his craft and looks worlds away from the petulant blonde-haired King.

In first look pictures, Jack is seen with dark shaggy hair and a full moustache while wearing a pinstriped suit, gold bracelets and rings on his index fingers.

The Famous Five cast also includes Moon Knight’s Ann Akinjirin as Fanny, Ted Lasso’s James Lance as Quentin and Father Brown’s Diana Quick as Mrs Wentworth.

Tim Kirkby, Executive Producer and director of the first episode said: “Our brilliant young cast are mind-blowingly talented and, along with Kip (playing Timmy), they are already bringing these gorgeous characters to life in a fresh and modern way.

“Together with the brilliant Jack, Ann, James and Diana we can’t wait to bring these glorious, action-filled, epic, family adventures to the screen.”

The five-piece will encounter treacherous, action-packed adventures, remarkable mysteries, unparalleled danger, and astounding secrets in an unforgettable odyssey that evokes the power of camaraderie between the fearless young heroes.
